What is an essay?

Throughout the years, English scholars have been continuously complicating one of the most reliable means of communication, writing. An essay is most simply a piece of writing that is organized into related paragraphs. But an essay is really much more complex than that. A proper essay has a topic paragraph, supporting paragraphs to help prove your thesis, and a concluding paragraph. A thesis is the basis to your essay, it's the statement that makes your essay what it is. The supporting paragraphs are divided to support your topic in multiple ways, the concluding paragraph simply sums up the complete essay. Essays have come a long way and are very important in expressing information in a logical way.
